Hand built from rolling out a slab of clay, adding a subtle texture and joining the corners, leaving the marks of hand building.

There are three variations of the angle of the sides:

• upright to use as a secure container, 8.5cm square
• medium flare to make it easier to take things out, 9.5cm square
• high flare, ideal for passing round nibbles or using as a spoon rest, 11cm square

Height 2.5cm, weight 0.2kg

All are glazed with a white wood ash glaze, but there is some variation depending on the composition of the ash.
