Ferrules and Crimping

Ferrules provide a neat way of terminating wires and making secure connections.
If you decide to use ferrules, please use a ratchet crimping tool - the non-ratchet ones aren't really reliable enough unless you have exceptionally strong hands!



This next one is for ferrules that go into electronic push-in connectors, not the general electrical crimps above, but it is a useful video on how to evaluate a crimping tool. The wires are generally thinner than we use in lamps, so non-ratchet crimps do work satisfactorily here.
